Application deadline extended for city boards and committees

A computer glitch has caused Hudson City Council to extend the time to apply for current openings on several citizen committees and boards.

Council President David Basil said the city's computer filtering system was not allowing people to submit online applications, and so the deadline has been extended until 4:30 p.m. on
Friday, July 6 to deliver applications to the Town Hall at 27 E. Main Street, or submit them electronically on the city's website.  Applications may also be printed, filled out, scanned and then emailed to clerk, Elizabeth Slagle.

Basil encourages Hudson residents to apply, and said "it is a wonderful way to get involved, and is very, very rewarding."

There are two openings on the Architectural and Historic Board of Review. The Board meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month.

The Environmental Awareness Committee has one vacancy to fill for a term expiring on December 31 of this year.  That committee meets monthly at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday.

One vacancy exists on the Economic Growth Board to finish a term expiring on September 6, 2012.  This board meets at 7:00 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month.

The Cable TV Advisory committee is looking for one person to complete a term that ends January 24, 2015.  This committee meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday, every other month.

There is one opening on the Park Board, to fill a term expiring on July 5, 2013.  The board meets on the third Monday of each month.
