HUDSON: City Council Wednesday voted unanimously to remove a proposed rezoning ordinance from further consideration.

The action was taken at the request of Collection Auto Group, which opened a Volkswagen dealership in Hudson in 2012.

The dealership had originally intended to expand a parking area on a portion of the site, located at 5715 Darrow Road, however adjoining residential property owners raised concerns at several council meetings, and the matter was tabled in November of 2012 for up to one year.

The auto group informed the city recently that it was no longer interested in pursuing rezoning. Legislation that would have provided a conservation easement on the property, to provide a buffer zone between the commercial site and nearby residences, was also permanently tabled.
