Council tables rezoning request until November 2013

HUDSON: City Council unanimously approved a motion to table Collection Auto Group's rezoning request at its meeting on Monday.

The company does not require the rezoning until it reaches phase two of its newly opened Volkswagen dealership at the Darrow Road property that was once Clarke Ford.  The later phase calls for the addition of more parking spaces.

The rezoning request has been tabled until Nov. 6, 2013, along with legislation to adopt a deed of conservation easement.

Council President David Basil said that it was not correct, as previously reported, that Collection Auto Group objected to the language of the conservation easement.  The company's only issue, according to Basil, was one of timing.

The auto group did not want to enter into the easement agreement until they were ready to proceed with the rezoning.

Collection Auto Group proposed doing a conservation easement after several property owners adjacent to the business premises objected to the initial rezoning plan.
