Senior Ben Gedeon rushed for 159 yards and a touchdown, and sophomore Mitchell Guadagni had a key touchdown run in the fourth quarter to lead the visiting Explorers (8-2, 4-1) to an upset win over the previously undefeated Bears (9-1, 5-0) to clinch a share of the Northeast Ohio Conference title.
Guadagni scored on a 6-yard touchdown run with 7:24 left in the fourth quarter to give the Explorers a 19-7 lead. The Explorers led 10-0 at halftime and 13-0 in the third quarter before the Bears pulled within a touchdown with less than two minutes remaining in the third quarter.
Guadagni threw for 96 yards and rushed for 47 yards and senior Tim Kennedy caught three passes for 34 yards to lead the Explorers.
