Hudson High School students from Betty Bank-Burke’s entrepreneurship class will travel to Lexi-Comp Inc. to participate in the JA Be Entrepreneurial Conference Monday.

Lexi-Comp Inc. and Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio, the world's largest organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy, will host the conference.

Business volunteers will present the JA Be Entrepreneurial program to 30 Hudson students over the course of a day, introducing them to the essential components of a business plan and encouraging them to pursue their own entrepreneurial pursuits.

Business volunteers from the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce, Gifts by the Basket, Hudson Entrepreneur in Residence, Simplex-IT, Entrepreneurial Engagement Ohio, Royal Chemical Company and The Naples Wealth Management Group will lead the program.

The conference will follow the JA In A Day format, which allows volunteers to teach financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness curriculum in one day. Through the conference, students will learn from the real world experiences volunteers bring to topics, such as how to evaluate entrepreneurial ideas, develop business-planning skills and engage in ethical decision-making.

The conference will be held at Lexi-Comp Inc. located at 1100 Terex Road. JA Be Entrepreneurial speakers will talk from 8 a.m. to noon, lunch and a motivational speaker will be from noon to 12:30 p.m. and more speakers will present from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
