HUDSON: Expect extra kindness in Hudson next week.

Mayor William Currin issued a proclamation on behalf of the National Random Acts of Kindness Foundation and Hudson's Random Acts of Kindness Committee, declaring February 11 to 17 as "Random Acts of Kindness Week" in the city.

The mayor's proclamation states "a simple act of kindness to another person will help our community become a kinder, safer and more caring environment in which to live, work and play."

The mayor then urged "all of our citizens to perform acts of kindness, not just this week, but 365 days a year."

In other business on Wednesday, city council approved all of its consent agenda items including:

  • entering into a 7-year contract with Pepsi to provide beverages to the Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club;
  • amending a community reinvestment agreement with Face-Off LLC to allow them additional years of tax exemption due to construction delays;
  • allowing the city manager to advertise for bids for the Barlow Road/Terex Road resurfacing project;
  • adding $84,383.60 to the tax duplicate for 131 Keswick Drive, as a special assessment for nuisance abatement.
